The CyberLions, officially known as Team 8521 by the FIRST Robotics Competition (FRC) league, is a robotics team based in Westminster, California. Founded in 2020 as a non-profit organization, the team operates out of Westminster High School and is dedicated to promoting diversity and inclusion while providing hands-on STEM experiences to its members.

History

  • 2021: In their rookie season, the CyberLions participated in several FIRST Robotics Competition (FRC) events, including the INFINITE RECHARGE At Home Challenge and the Game Design Challenge. They were recognized as a Rookie Game Changer in the Calcium Group of the INFINITE RECHARGE At Home Challenge.
  • 2022: The season marked significant achievements for the team at the Orange County Regional. They were honored with the Highest Rookie Seed award, named Regional Finalists, and received the Rookie All Star Award.
  • 2024: The CyberLions continued their active participation by competing in the Ventura County Regional, where they earned the Team Spirit Award, and the Orange County Regional.
  • 2025: As of February, the team is preparing for upcoming competitions, including the Orange County Regional from February 26 to March 1, 2025, and the Aerospace Valley Regional from April 2 to April 5, 2025.

Throughout their journey, the CyberLions have demonstrated a commitment to fostering a diverse and inclusive environment, empowering students with practical STEM skills, and achieving commendable success in regional competitions.
