AUHSD Highlights Partnership with eKadence at NEA’s 2026 Leadership Summit

Release Date: 4/2/2026

Chicago, IL – At the National Education Association’s Annual Leadership Summit, AUHSD teacher Dr. Tyler Sherman led a session titled “AI as a Thought Partner: Building Leadership, Equity, and Efficiency in Public Education.” He shared how his district is using the eKadence Learning Platform to integrate artificial intelligence into everyday teaching and learning—moving AI beyond isolated pilots into the daily workflows of teachers and students.

During the presentation, Dr. Tyler Sherman demonstrated how eKadence enables AI-supported learning environments where instructional tools, student progress insights, and AI-assisted supports are integrated directly into the learning process. Rather than adding separate tools for educators to manage, AI capabilities within the platform operate within the normal routines of classrooms—helping teachers quickly understand student learning needs while supporting students in reflecting on their progress and taking a more active role in their learning.

District leaders also addressed a growing challenge in K–12 education often described as “pilot purgatory,” where schools experiment with multiple AI tools but struggle to move beyond fragmented pilots into district-wide implementation. By integrating AI into a unified learning platform used across courses and grade levels, eKadence helps districts move from experimentation to sustainable adoption—bringing together data, instructional resources, and AI-driven insights in one cohesive ecosystem rather than a collection of disconnected tools.

The summit is part of NEA’s broader effort to strengthen educator leadership and support innovation in public education.

As schools across the country explore how emerging technologies can support teaching and learning, AUHSD’s presentation highlighted the importance of integrated platform ecosystems—rather than fragmented tools—that embed AI seamlessly into the daily experiences of teachers and students while reinforcing the human relationships that remain at the heart of education.
